Group C – World Cup Brazil – Astrology Preview

Can Horary Astrology forecast any trends in the group stage of World Cup Brazil 2014? In this article, we will take a look at Group C: Colombia, Greece, Japan and Ivory Coast. We will test to which extent can the chart of the 1st match predict trends of the entire group.

In this analysis we adapt some techniques of John Frawley’s method as explained in his book Sports Astrology. I remind the reader that this is only an experiment in Horary Astrology. As far as I know, this method – 4 teams analysis with the first chart – was never published or tested before as it is shown in this website.

1st Match of the Group  C – COLOMBIA vs GREECE (14 June 2014, 1 pm., Belo Horizonte , local time)

mapa-grupoc

Favourites before the 1st match(according to the bookies, just before the first match): 1st Colombia; 2nd Ivory Coast; 3rd Japan; 4th Greece.

1st Round : Colombia vs Greece; Ivory C. vs Japan

2nd Round: Colombia vs Ivory C.; Greece vs Japan

3rd Round: Japan vs Colombia; Greece vs Ivory C.

We could consider the most favourite team being represented by the 10th House and is ruler; the 2nd (only two can pass this stage), by the first house and its ruler; the 3rd to the 7th house and its ruler; the underdogs, by the 4th House and its ruler. So the four Angles are associated with the 4 teams. The Highest in rank: the 10th House. The lowest in the rank: the 4th House.

The first round would be represented by the first 5 degrees of the Moon; the second round, by the following 5 degrees of the Moon; the last round by the last 5 degrees of the Moon within a total of 15 degrees.

Antiscia points are considered, but less important than the zodiacal position of the planets.

However, we must say that the odds for the Ivory Coast and Japan are very similar, differing in many bet houses. This makes the preview for these teams very difficult, with this method… or impossible. Also because the Moon – ruler of the flow of the events – is the ruler of Colombia, having a double role in the intepretation.

Adding to this condition, if the referee starts 2 minutes after the scheluded time – a likely scenario – Mars changes position, just over the Ascendant – which changes the interpretation dramatically (especially regarding the first round and Japan vs Ivory Coast)

So, bearing this in mind (this chart is far more difficult than the ones of Groups A or B) we follow the interpretation only as an exercise that can make us learn more about Horary Astrology. Thank You!

In this case, Colombia are represented by Cancer and Saturn (the dispositor of the Moon). Ivory Coast are represented by Libra and Venus. Japan are represented by Aries and Mars. Greece are represented by Capricorn and Saturn.

If this experimental method works, we could say that:

– First Round: better start for the Saturn teams (Moon makes a sextil to Saturn and before this, to Mars’ Antiscion) – however, Saturn teams play against each other in this round. Does this means a draw? Don’t know. Also plausible, a Colombia win. If the referee starts on time, Mars is inside the 1st House – which is a strong testimony for 3rd favourite (Japan) defeat against Ivory Coast (even though there is a sextile to Mars Antiscion) or a draw in the best scenario.

– Second round : The second favourite (Ivory Coast?) improves since the last match (scores against Colombia and probably wins) – the only applying aspect is with Venus, ruler of the Ascendant. Japan does not get better, compared to the 1st round.

–  Third round : The tendencies of the last round are kept. So, it seems there is no surprise since the last round and expectations are met, because the Moon makes no aspects.

So overall, we could consider a good performance of the Ivory Coast, especially in the second round, and dificulties for Japan in general. No surprises in the last round, considering the classification of the previous rounds. But we remind the reader – this is an almost impossible chart to analyse – for the reasons stated above.

Let’s see how the group ends. Let the best team Win!

COMMENT AFTER THE GROUP IS OVER:

This method worked very well for the 1st round of all groups, but no so good for the 2nd and 3rd rounds. In the future, the charts for these rounds should be also accounted for. The chart fort this group, however,  as stated before, was very difficult to figure out.

Results:

1st Round :   Colombia 3 – Greece – 0; Ivory Coast 2 – Japan 1

2nd round: Colombia 2 – Ivory Coast – 1; Japan 0 – Greece 0

3rd round: Colombia 4 – Japan – 1; Ivory Coast 1 – Greece 2

What went well in this astro-preview:

– “First Round: better start for the Saturn teams (Moon makes a sextil to Saturn and before this, to Mars’ Antiscion) – however, Saturn teams play against each other in this round. Does this means a draw? Don’t know. Also plausible, a Colombia win. If the referee starts on time, Mars is inside the 1st House – which is a strong testimony for 3rd favourite (Japan) defeat against Ivory Coast (even though there is a sextile to Mars Antiscion) or a draw in the best scenario.”  – Colombia defeated Greece; Ivory Coast won against Japan.

– ” The second favourite (Ivory Coast?) improves since the last match (scores against Colombia and probably wins) – the only applying aspect is with Venus, ruler of the Ascendant. Japan does not get better, compared to the 1st round..”  – Here, technical mistakes. The Moon trined Venus (end of round 1 beginning od round 2) but because the Moon opposed Jupiter (in the House of Colombia) before finishing the second round: there was a prohibition of Ivory Coast’s victory, and Colombia win (as I said, this is why we tested the method: to learn from experience). Japan tied with Greece.

“-  Third round : The tendencies of the last round are kept. So, it seems there is no surprise since the last round and expectations are met, because the Moon makes no aspects. So overall, we could consider a good performance of the Ivory Coast, especially in the second round, and dificulties for Japan in general. No surprises in the last round, considering the classification of the previous rounds. But we remind the reader – this is an almost impossible chart to analyse – for the reasons stated above.” because the trends of the previous round were Colombia and Greece improving the big suprise would be Japan and Ivory Coast winning, which in fact, did not happen. Japan in fact finished in the 4th place, and this was enhanced.

Briefly, we can say this method worked well for the 1st round ; and only a technical mistake (not the method) prevented us from the correct diagnosis of round 2.
